Manzanar will host four days of bilingual tours and film screenings during Latino Conservation Week. These special events are free and open to the public. Rocio Gomez (a Latino heritage intern) will lead the Echoes of Resilience site tours starting at 9:30am and will introduce the film “Stand Up for Justice” at 12:30pm. Visitors that are interested in walking tours should meet in the Visitor Center lobby shortly before 9:30am to sign up. The first ten visitors to sign up for each bilingual tour will receive a Manzanar souvenir water bottle!  Latino conservation week is an annual event promoted by the Hispanic Access Foundation to encourage collaborative partnerships among environmental, governmental and conservation organizations to engage Latino communities in the National Parks. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunscreen. There are no food services at Manzanar, so bring snacks and water. There will be places to refill water bottles on tour.
